Commercial machines, not domestic

You train on the same professional espresso machines and grinders found in working cafés, so your skills transfer straight to the job from day one.

Common questions

Food Safety & coffee courses, answered.

How do I get my Food Safety Supervisor certificate in NSW?

Complete the nationally recognised Food Safety Supervisor course online for $129. It covers units SITXFSA005 and SITXFSA006 plus the NSW Food Authority key focus areas, has no prerequisites, and you can start right away. We're NSW Food Authority approved (#83859).

Is the Food Safety course online, and are there any prerequisites?

Yes — it's delivered 100% online with no prerequisites, so anyone can enrol and begin immediately. You'll need access to a commercial kitchen to demonstrate the practical tasks. The certificate is valid for five years.

Do I need a certificate to work as a barista in Sydney?

No — there's no mandatory licence to make coffee in NSW. But hands-on barista training gives you a real advantage when job hunting, because cafés want staff who can start immediately on commercial equipment. For premium cafés and management roles, the nationally recognised Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee qualification helps you stand out.

Which course do I need before the espresso coffee unit?

The Food Safety Supervisor course (covering SITXFSA005) is a prerequisite for the nationally recognised Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee unit. You'll need to provide evidence of it before starting the practical training.

What's the difference between the group class and 1-on-1 barista training?

The group class ($99) is a shared 150–180 minute session run regularly in small groups — excellent value and ideal for beginners. The 1-on-1 session ($249) is private, booked on a date of your choice, and tailored to your pace. Both issue a certificate on completion.

Do you run coffee roasting courses?

Yes. Our Coffee Roasting Fundamentals course ($550) is a full hands-on day covering roast profiling, cupping and your own batches on professional equipment. The Advanced Coffee Roasting course ($1,100) then goes deeper into profiling and technique for experienced roasters. Both run at our Roselands academy.

Where are courses held and what are the hours?

All training takes place at the Di Pacci academy, 97–99 Chapel St, Roselands NSW 2196. We're open Monday to Friday 8am–5pm and Saturday 9am–2pm. Call (02) 9758 0760 to ask about upcoming dates and availability.
