Learn to pull a proper shot in a hands-on group class
A practical 150–180 minute barista class at the Di Pacci academy in Roselands — where you learn espresso, milk texturing and latte art on real commercial equipment, in a small group, alongside other coffee lovers.
This is barista training built around doing, not watching. You'll work on professional machines and grinders, guided by experienced trainers, and leave knowing how to prepare and present a full menu of café-quality espresso drinks. It's ideal for beginners, home enthusiasts, and anyone wanting to step behind the machine with confidence.
What you'll learn
Across the session, you'll cover every core barista skill — from grinding and extraction through to milk and presentation:
Grinding, dosing, tamping and pulling a balanced shot — and how to read the crema, flow and timing to adjust it.
Steaming and texturing milk to the right microfoam for flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos and more.
Prepare espresso, long black, flat white, latte, cappuccino, piccolo, macchiato, mocha and ristretto.
Pour your first free-poured designs and learn the technique behind consistent, clean art.
Understand how grind, dose, water and pressure affect taste — and how to fix a shot that's off.
Back-flushing, cleaning the group head and steam wand, and safe day-to-day maintenance.
The full drinks menu you'll practise
You'll prepare and present each of these espresso-based beverages to a café standard:
- Espresso (short black) & ristretto
- Long black & Americano-style serves
- Flat white, caffe latte & cappuccino
- Piccolo latte & macchiato (short and long)
- Mocha and other milk-based favourites
