Become a qualified barista with a nationally recognised unit
Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee is the nationally recognised barista qualification (unit SITHFAB025) — blended online theory plus a hands-on practical session at the Di Pacci academy in Roselands, finishing with a Statement of Attainment.
This is the credential cafés look for. You'll learn to prepare and serve the full espresso menu to a commercial standard, then be formally assessed by qualified trainers. Complete the online knowledge assessments first, then join us in person to put it all into practice on real commercial equipment.
What you'll learn
The unit covers everything needed to work confidently and safely behind a commercial coffee machine:
Grinding, dosing, tamping and extracting balanced espresso to a commercial standard.
Steaming and texturing milk for the full range of espresso-based drinks.
Prepare and serve a minimum of 30 espresso beverages across the standard café menu.
Operating, cleaning and maintaining commercial espresso machines and grinders.
Setting up and shutting down the coffee station the way a working café does.
Safe, hygienic practice and efficient service workflow in a commercial environment.
